Gaining weight is one of the
scariest news that you can hear – as a remark – from your parents, wife or
husband, friends or even nosy neighbors and strangers, especially if you are
already known for a perfect body sculpture.
Besides that,
overweight and obesity are enunciators of several metabolic, cardiovascular,
respiratory and digestive diseases .The main question is: Are you trying to
lose some weight? The next suggested sports are the best and most fun for
weight loss. And the majority of these sports don’t require costly
sophisticated equipment or monthly memberships:
Swimming: Swimming could be considered as cardiovascular powerhouse that engages
the whole body. It's the perfect choice for people who benefit from low-impact
exercise. Moreover, you don’t need much gear in its wider sense; just a
swimsuit, goggles, and -of course- access to a pool. Breaststroke burns the
most calories; freestyle is also a good choice for burning calories.
Cycling: Cycling
is the synonym of fun in sport terms. Losing weight through cycling could be
considered as a “road trip for enjoyment”, not a boring routine exercise,
without forgetting the possibility to practice it with friends as a cycling
group. Ensuring high endurance, elevated heartbeat and profuse sweat, cycling
fights overweight without making it painful or exhausting. All you need
is a good bicycle in god mechanical state, fitting your age and size, and
voila!
Running: My preferred one, everyone knows how to run, right? Running is a
high endurance sport, which means that you body is exercising at submaximal
intensity for prolonged periods of time. All you need to run safely
is a quality pair of sneakers. If you’re new to running, it is recommended to
try run-walk-run intervals, in order to make an easy adaptation. And
remember, the major key for weight loss is endurance, so be sure to check your
heart rate to guarantee a vigorous workout.
High Intensity
Interval Training: Even if it is not
technically a “pure” sport, HIIT is one of the best activities to burn fat and
drop weight, furthermore, you are free to choose movements based on the sport
you play or you like. In a nutshell, HIIT is a workout made of repeated rounds
of exercises at max effort for a given interval time, followed by a short rest
period. For instance, you could run for 10 minutes, followed by 1 minute of
rest, followed by one minute of squats, and so on. You don’t need to buy
anything to practice HIIT, so what are waiting for?
Rock Climbing: Rock climbing is a cornerstone among body weight loss training
exercises. It can be challenging to get started, but indoor rock gyms could be
the first step if you want to eventually enjoy it outside. Those gyms rent the
basic equipment to climb a rock wall; a harness and climbing shoes. There are
also people with the necessary expertise to teach you the basics and to
recommend local spots for this fun sport.
